Snow and a Hot Cocoa Recipe!

We got about 24 inches of snow yesterday! Today we have beautiful blue skies and the sun is shinning. But it is still really cold out there. I made some Hot Chocolate today for my husband after he was out shoveling our driveway. It's so great on days like this, so warm and yummy!

"For He says to the snow, 'Fall on the earth'; Likewise to the gentle rain the heavy rain of His strength." Job 37:6

The wind we got yesterday made the snow have such beautiful textures! : )

♥ Our Favorite Hot Cocoa ♥

1/2 c. sugar
1/3 c. hot water
1/4 c. unsweetened cocoa powder
4 c. milk
1/8 t. salt
3/4 t. vanilla extract

Mix cocoa, sugar, water and salt in a saucepan. Over medium heat, stir constantly until mixture boils. Cook, stirring constantly, for 1 minute.

Stir in the milk and heat, but do not boil. Remove from heat and add vanilla; blean well. Serve immediately.

Makes 4 servings. ♥ I hope you all enjoy! ♥

I so wanted a cup of hot chocolate this morning on my way to work. I stopped at McDonald's (whose hot chocolate in my humble opinion is wonderful) and their machine was broken....so I went to Sonic - didn't know that they sold hot chocolate so I was excited when they said they did - ordered a cup - got to the window and was told they were out.....someone up there is trying to tell me to cut back.....

LOVE Hot Cocoa! Our recipe is: 1 1/2 c non-fat powdered milk, 1 1/2 c white sugar, 3/4 c dark or regular cocoa and 3/4 c non-dairy creamer. Use about 1 heaping T per 6oz cup. Yum! We like adding a little peppermint extract to it.

Lotsa shoveling going on here too!

24 inches?! Wow, that's a lot of snow. We had it bad in November last year and probably got around that in the fields. I'm hoping we don't get anymore!!

Found you through Monday blog hopping.
