~*~ Rest ~*~

Sharing some of my favorite verses on rest, and resting in our Savior. I know there are many others out there but here's just a few.

"And on the seventh day God ended His work which He had done, and He rested on the seventh day from all His work which He had done."
Genesis 2:2

***
And He said, "My Presence will go with you, and I will give you rest."
Exodus 33:14

***
"Therefore my heart is glad, and my glory rejoices; My flesh also will rest in hope."
Psalms 16:9
***
"Rest in the LORD, and wait patiently for Him; Do not fret because of him who prospers in his way, Because of the man who brings wicked schemes to pass."
Psalms 37:7
***
"Come to Me, all you who labor and are heavy laden, and I will give you rest."
Matthew 11:28

***
Blessings on your week!

A Precious Promise

"But those who wait on the LORD Shall renew their strength; They shall mount up with wings like eagles, They shall run and not be weary, They shall walk and not faint."
Isaiah 40:31

A Favorite Poem

~Footprints in the Sand~

"One night I dreamed I was walking along the beach with the Lord. Many scenes from my life flashed across the sky.

In each scene I noticed footprints in the sand. Sometimes there were two sets of footprints, other times there was one only.

This bothered me because I noticed that during the low periods of my life, when I was suffering from anguish, sorrow or defeat, I could see only one set of footprints, so I said to the Lord,

“You promised me Lord, that if I followed you, you would walk with me always. But I have noticed that during the most trying periods of my life there has only been one set of footprints in the sand. Why, when I needed you most, have you not been there for me?”

The Lord replied, “The years when you have seen only one set of footprints, my child, is when I carried you.”"

~Mary Stevenson, 1936

You can read Mary's story here. I found this for the first time today...

To Be Known In Christ & To Follow Him

"My sheep hear My voice, and I know them, and they follow Me." John 10:27

I want to follow Jesus Christ closely.

Right behind Him

Know
Him
And hear His voice

I want this blog to be a light for Him

To encourage others to strengthen their walk
{And to be encouraged too
}
Or come and follow Him
And find rest in His arms.

I pray you all are having a blessed week
And that your following Jesus will be stronger everyday!

"And when he brings out his own sheep, he goes before them;
and the sheep follow him, for they know his voice." John 10:4

Praise Him...

"Praise Him who went before to search out a Resting-place. May it be a place of victory too, for His own glory's sake."

New to Blogging World

Hi! As you see I'm pretty new at this blogging...so if any of you feel like leaving a comment with any suggestions they would be REALLY appreciated. I know I'm going to enjoy meeting bloggers and making friends, and you just might be able to help me!? Do you have any tips? Anything that worked for you? Things you'd like to hear from me? What would interest you and bring you back to my little nook on the web?

Thank you!

"Take My yoke upon you and learn from Me, for I am gentle and lowly in heart, and you will find rest for your souls." Matthew 11:29

Ephesians 4:4-6

“There is one body and one Spirit, just as you were called in one hope of your calling; one Lord, one faith, one baptism; one God and Father of all, who is above all, and through all, and in you all.”

First Blog Post - Rest

~ A Restful Place ~

Where do we find rest? Who do we find rest in? Our answer to these 2 questions should be the same, "Jesus our Lord". There are many other things we find rest in, like: our home, our family, reading, baking, sewing, music, babies etc. but our ultimate rest should be in the arms of Him who created us. GOD. He has commanded us to come to Him and rest.

Rest in Him!

"My Presence will go with you, and I will give you rest." Exodus 33:14

“Come to Me, all you who labor and are heavy laden, and I will give you rest.” Matthew 11:28
