Bacon Wrapped Stuffed Jalapenos Recipe

Bacon Wrapped Stuffed Jalapenos

We had these for dinner last night so I thought I'd share this family favorite with a bunch of pictures.  We eat these for snacks, lunches, & dinner. They can be made hot, if you like that or mild.  I often make them mild with an occasional one that's nice & hot! If you have sensitive skin, be sure to wear kitchen gloves while handling the jalapenos.  They can leave your hands feeling burnt.

Ingredients:
  • Jalapenos (10-15)
  • 1 package Cream Cheese, softened
  • 1 package Bacon (I use turkey bacon)
 Rinse and pat dry jalapenos.

Cut jalapenos length-wise and scrape out seeds and veins.  If you leave the veins or any seeds in they will be very hot! I have found the easiest way to get the seeds and veins out is by using a teaspoon.

Fill jalapenos with softened cream cheese, depending on how many you make (10-15), you can fill them a little more or less.  I like to try to use the entire package up as I don't want to use it for something else later. :)

Wrap each cream cheese filled jalapeno with bacon.  You can cut each bacon slice in half or use the whole thing per jalapeno half.  I often will use an entire bacon slice per jalapeno half and at the end if I start to run out begin cutting them in half.  So, most of them end up with a full slice of bacon.  You can use a tooth pick to hold the bacon on but I normally just make sure the end is towards the pan.  Put the wrapped jalapenos on a broiler pan or cookie sheet.  I use both but prefer to use a broiler pan.

Bake at 375 degrees for 20-30 minutes or until bacon is cooked to how you like it.  Let cool 3-5 minutes before serving.  We like to have them with sour cream.

Have you ever made Bacon Wrapped Stuffed Jalapenos?  What's your family's favorite snack?

Child Training Bible Review & Giveaway + 2 Day Sale!

Today I'm happy to share with you this excellent parenting tool that I found, the Child Training Bible.  This is a tool to help you personalize a Bible of your choice to easily mark scriptures to train your children with.

About the Child Training Bible
PhotobucketI am a homeschooling mother of four children.  I love the Word of God and I desperately desire to use more Scripture in training up my children for the Lord.  There are many moments throughout the day that I want to speak a word of truth to direct my children.   I have tried biblical child training charts, verses on notecards plastered on the refrigerator and Bible memorization.  In all my efforts it seemed that something was missing, something that I now realize is absolutely essential.

I must give my children a physical experience with the Holy Word of God.

They must see the Bible.  Open the Bible.  Become familiar with the text of the Bible. Read more about the Child Training Bible here.
The Child Training Bible comes with 4 charts. The first is to be taped in the front of you Bible.  This chart will indicate what color and what side to your Bible you need to go to for different subjects/topics (anger, fear, fighting, etc).  The other three charts have the scripture refrences for each subject/topic along with questions and prayers.  You highlight (or use color pencil like I did) and mark the scriptures per color for each topic and use matching post-it flags to mark each page so you can easily turn to them.

The Child Training Bible kit comes with the Child Training Bible Key, 3 Scripture tabbing charts and instructions, You need to purchase your own 9X6 Bible (in your preferred version), post-it flags and highlighters (or colored pencils).  Being able to purchase the kit without the Bible makes it nice to use a Bible in the version you usually read.

One of the things I like best about the Child Training Bible is the fact that it helps us teach our children that they can find an answer to all of their questions and problems in the Bible.  They do not need to run to any other place than the Bible (and the Lord).

Order your own Child Training Bible supplies!  Today and tomorrow you can purchase a Child Training Bible kit and get a second one free!!  Read about the details here.
